I bought several computers from a second hand computer trader.
I found a proper licenced recycling centre on the edge of my town. It is proper.
- The centre holds Waste Management and Waste Carriers Licences from the Environment Agency. It can process WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) and deal properly with hazardous waste including monitors, fluorescent tubes and air conditioning units.
- The centre complies with the Data Protection Act 1998 by securely destroying the data on the hard drives of the PCs it collects.
I bought my hardware from them. I have never seen so many computers in a warehouse.
