scooter-size cluster architecture

scooter-size cluster

This chapter describes the concepts I followed, the building blocks I played with (the hardware and software) and why they are needed on the LIC.

The network architecture is both physical and virtual. The physical presence of the LIC is the bit you can touch and see: the bit that has flashing lights and dangling cables.

I have to dish out another big fat load of theory before getting down to the action in the next chapter. There's no avoiding the fact that proper planning prevents piss-poor performance.
