The Secret Code movie

The universal method of protecting WWW traffic is by using the SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) protocol. When a customer types a URL into a web browser that starts with the scheme "HTTPS:" the web browser and web server use cryptography to protect their conversation.

  • decode a pfx file using OpenSSL
  • view the cipher suites on a web browser
  • add SSL to a web server
  • limit access to apache1 using postgresql and login
  • create a self-signed X.509 certificate and private key using OpenSSL
  • decode an X.509 certificate using OpenSSL
  • add an X.509 certificate to apache
  • decode a CRL (Certificate Revocation List) using OpenSSL
  • view a web server's certificate chain using OpenSSL
  • add an X.509 certificate to a java keystore using keytool
